What is periodontal disease, and how can I prevent it?

Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection of the gums, bones, and ligaments that support the teeth. The condition, also known as gum disease, can lead to tooth loss, bone and gum deterioration, and it has been linked to strokes, heart attacks, and complications in pregnancy and for diabetics. Early detection is important. Every time you visit, we’ll assess for signs of the disease to head off problems before they escalate. Between visits, you can help by practicing good oral hygiene, including brushing and flossing regularly.

Why should I get porcelain veneers? How long do they last?
